Released July 31st, 2007
Peace Division are back!! Known and loved by the Crosstown Rebels for an age, it seems incredible that this is the very first release on the label from our good friends Clive Henry and Justin Drake. Having recorded countless bombs for NRK and their own imprint, Low Pressings, it is with great pleasure that Crosstown Rebels are set to release the Soft Heavy EP.
The London-based duo hold over ten years of experience between them and have inspired many corners of the globe with their productions and DJing both together and alone. The friendship with Crosstown Rebels was built from legendary sessions on DC10 Mondays at Circo Loco in Ibiza where Clive Henry and Damian Lazarus were both residents.
The Soft Heavy EP feels like it stepped off the submarine at port ibiza a month or two early; No Junk No Soul is all bleeping underwater sonars and atlantis-underworld dub beats that gets under your skin immediately.
Pulses is the sound of a daytime nightmare that’s fun to be in; this is trippy business of the highest order.
Voodoo (It’s in the Wall) deftly combines the eerie vocals of Pleasant Gehman with PD’s slow tempo killer groove. So good this one that Locodice forced the Rebels to give it up early for his new TDK/Timewarp compilation.
With a recent podcast for Ibiza Voice, gigs this year including one of the final Stink parties in London and a forthcoming residency again in DC10 in Ibiza, gigs in Switzerland, Glastonbury, Mexico, Argentina and across the UK, Peace Division and this EP are set to burn dancefloors alight throughout the summer.
