At the age of 10 years old (whilst taking a casual stroll from my bedroom to the kitchen) I noticed my father watching a film in the living room. Unbeknownst to me at the time, this short moment in my life would be the catalyst for me wanting to make art. The film was ‘American Beauty’ and the scene that was about to play was the famous ‘floating plastic bag’ scene. (Accompanied by the stunning ‘Any Other Name’ – Thomas Newman).

For some strange reason I was compelled to sit right in front of the TV and take this beautiful moment in. I was captivated and it was the very first time art had moved me to my core.

That moment has stuck with me for life and I’ve been chasing after it ever since.
